    solve linear equation

    Please help

    4x/6 -3(x+10)=12

    4x-18(x+10)=12
    4x-18x-180=12
    -14x-180=12
    14x+180=12
    x=12-180/14
    ????

    In the highlighted part above you did not multiply the whole equation by 6, you left out the right hand side.

    It should read 4x-18(x+10) = 72
