Thread: 1st Year Chemisty Question on Density

A lump of pure copper weighs 25.021 in air and 22.127 when submerged in water ( = 0.9982 ) at 20.0 . Suppose the copper is then rolled into a 253- foil of uniform thickness. What will this thickness be, in millimeters?



I figured out that the copper has a volume of 2.8992cm^3..

Now I can't figure out the second part.. I have 2 inccorect answers so far of 1.15 and 3.41. Any help?

253cm^2 multiplied by xcm will give you 2.8992 cm^3

2.8992/253= 0.0115cm = 0.115mm
