Thread: Multiply out to find the sum of products?

1. Multiply out to find the sum of products?

Hey everyone. I don't know where to put this question so I'll put it here. It's for my logic design class.

Multiply out to find the sum of products. I can't quite figure out how to get the answer even though I know what it is.

(W+X'+Z')(W'+Y')(W'+X+Z')(W+X')(W+Y+Z)

The answer should come out to this, but how do you get this:
WY'X+WY'Z'+W'X'Y+W'X'Y'+W'X'Z

If you decide to do: A & B
and decide to do: A & C
and decide to do: A & D
you only do A once.

e.g.:
cut Tree1 down & go shopping
cut Tree1 down & go boating
cut Tree1 down & sell the house

You don't cut the tree down three times.
