matlab 3D-4D graphic plot
I have to plot a variable e.g f(x,y,z) in complete 3D space (x,y,z).
Normally in 3D plots we use two axis and take the variable along 3rd axis to see the variations. But I am not clear how to do this in full 3D with all three axis and a variable as fourth axis parameter.

Can anyone help me go through this?

Thanks in anticipation!

I would suggest you type "matlab 4d plot" into Google and look at what that throws up.

Hey guys. Hope the animation file below is not too annoying. That's how I'd think to represent 4D: The file shows $x^3+y^2-z^2=w$ as $w$ varies from -2 to 2. So just make a bunch of 3D plots for $f(x,y,z)=w$ for a range of w, then store them to a GIF file right?

Thanks!
Thnaks CB for your response and a suggestion!

I will try it out!

Thanks!
Thank you Shawsend!

But, since I am not very good at Matlab, so still not very much clear that how to do it practically!

Any more suggestion and help in this regard?

Shafiq

Yea, afraid you might ask that. Look, I did that in Mathematica (don't know Matlab). But I'd think you can at least plot static 3D plots in Matlab right? Then there must be some way to assemble these into a GIF file either in Matlab or using some other external program.
