# Math Help - Maple 11: how to display "f(x)"

1. ## Maple 11: how to display "f(x)"

Hey, well I was given an assignment to define an expression f(x)..the thing i typed the function "f:=____" but the assignment is asking me to output the function as f(x)..im sure its not a big deal but my profs are want to make sure the answer displays it their way or I get no marks..i think i learned that the hard way on my previous lab

so is there any way to show "f(x)" in my funtion as an output? I thank you all for your time..any comments would be most appreciated!

Just type the red colored text to the syntax of Maple 11 you will get the blue outputs.
Code:
>f(x,y):=x^2+y^2; #Hit enter here to get
f(x,y):=x²+y²>subs([x=1,y=2],f(x,y)); #Hit enter here
