Thread: Getting Maple 10 to work on a Vista machine

I have a quandary maybe someone can help with.

I recently bought a new laptop. Of course, it has Vista

The newest version, Maple 11 is compatible with Vista. But 10 is not.

I have my installation disk, but I get to the point "Maple 10 is being configured, this may take a moment". Of course, the moment never ends.

I contacted Maple and they gave me a download, but it does not work either.

Am I s**t out of luck?.

Other than buying an upgrade to Maple 10, I may very well be in a pickle.

I may have to keep my old computer just to run Maple 10.

Does anyone know of a fix?. Just wondering.

It's not going to help you in your present predicament, but I am moving
away from comercial software.

I am perticularly happy with the latest release of Maxima.

Thanks Cap'n. I think I will stick with Maple. I just found out the upgrade is only $89. I will probably just go ahead and do that soon. I didn't think about the incompatibility of Vista when I bought the computer. Now I sure know.
I have heard lots of people gripe about how glitchy and aggravating Vista is. I couldn't believe it, but I got my TI Connect to work. That was amazing it was compatible. I may make the leap to Linux and Microsoft be damn.
