Hello!

I'm working a matlab project where I need to define a Beam X=-5 to 5 and Y=-1 to 1. I have successfully plotted that, no issue.
Next I determined the strain on the object and successfully defined a third parameter, Call it Z. So Now I have a matrix of >150 rows and 3 columns.

How do I take the XY data and color it according to Colomn 3 (Z)?
I have tried Pcolor and that gives me odd data, countor plots, etc, but nothing seems to work.

Example:

XYZ =
-5.0000 -1.0000 0.9653
-5.0000 -0.8000 0.9478
-5.0000 -0.6000 0.9302
-5.0000 -0.4000 0.9127
-5.0000 -0.2000 0.8951
-5.0000 0 0.8776
-5.0000 0.2000 0.8600
-5.0000 0.4000 0.8425
-5.0000 0.6000 0.8249
-5.0000 0.8000 0.8074
-5.0000 1.0000 0.7898
-4.0000 -1.0000 1.0132
... 4
.0000 0.6000 0.8658
4.0000 0.8000 0.8474
4.0000 1.0000 0.8290
5.0000 -1.0000 0.9653
5.0000 -0.8000 0.9478
5.0000 -0.6000 0.9302
5.0000 -0.4000 0.9127
5.0000 -0.2000 0.8951
5.0000 0 0.8776
5.0000 0.2000 0.8600
5.0000 0.4000 0.8425
5.0000 0.6000 0.8249
5.0000 0.8000 0.8074
5.0000 1.0000 0.7898

I need it to look something like this...
Matlab and Defining colors by Z parameter-strain-plot.jpg

I don't need to have the mesh, but its a bonus.

Thanks,

Mike
