Exdraft - Complete worked solutions to first year math problems

Hi everyone,

Exdraft is a website, but in essence it is web-based software that provides full step-by-step solutions to math problems typically encountered in first year university.

The cool part is that you can plug in your own values for these problem templates, and obtain worked solutions to your specific problem. And you can also save your collection of problems, generic or customized and share links to your solutions with whomever you wish.

The website/software is still undergoing development, but there's a fair amount of linear algebra content there already. Calculus will be added soon, as well as other software features.

Check it out:

Exdraft - University math is easy. You just need to see the pattern.

Cheers,

Rosemarie

My problem with this concept is that it is too easy to get your homework assignments done. I didn't get a membership to check this out so maybe you've already considered that.

Hi Dan,

I see your point. It certainly makes it very easy to get your homework done. But as with most things in life, I believe there's a tradeoff. Pros and cons.

I think there's a lot of good from having ready access to the solutions of standard problems. For one thing, by plugging in different input values, and seeing the solution done over and over, it helps to recognize the problem/solution pattern.

I'm not saying anything against the value of such a site, especially since it isn't much different than what we do here. It's something that we look out for as best we can. But it takes a strong will to not abuse the site when it's 4 AM and the homework is due in 4 hours.... I'm simply saying that there's a difficulty which, as I said earlier, requires some policing of some kind. If you have already considered this problem, than 'nuff said. :)
