Thread: matlab r2011a syntax error

My matlab r2011a does not accept normal matlab commands. Even the easiest ones like t=roots(p) for a polynomial p where p=[1 2 3 4]
anybody have any idea?

I am too facing the same problem , so one of my friend told me to reinstall it again and see , but the problem remained the same ,so if you find the solution then tell me on patentsusa .

The paths for the toolboxes are not set correctly (or your copy is not licenced for the tool box containing the function - not likely for roots).

These should be set correctly with a clean installation from the original media (accept the default installation directory so it cannot get confused).
