$\displaystyle \text{FindRoot}[\{\text{eqn}_{1},\text{eqn}_{2},\dots,\text{eqn}_{ n}\},\{x,x_{0}\},\{y,y_{0}\},\dots]$ searches for a numerical solution to the simultaneous equations $\displaystyle \text{eqn}_{i}.$ - Mathematica Help. Example:
$\displaystyle \text{FindRoot}[\{x+y==4,x-y==6\},\{x,3\},\{y,2\}]$ yields
$\displaystyle \{x\to 5., y\to -1.\}.$
