[SOLVED] Illustrate geometry parameters, forces etc.

    Hi,

I need a drawing tool that can illustrate geometry (preferably in 3D), geometry parameters, forces, force fields, coordinate systems and also provides advanced typing capabilities. Any suggestions?

    Regards,

This is of interest to me as well, as long as it isn't too expensive.

VPython? Although it may not be 100% perfect, it is free (yay! very important). I can't think of anything else , but it is a relatively simple program

Wiki: VPython - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
    Download: Download VPython
Why get VPython?: Why use Visual Python?

Just google VPython and get 213'000 hits.

It depends on what you are willing to go through to learn the program. My impression of it was a unix-type shell program that happens to have graphing commands built into it. I personally wasn't satisfied as I don't know enough about such a system to work with it.

If you are skillfull, Power Point and its equivalent in Open Office will do most
of what you need. And with luck and low cunning you can even get power
point to export the result as encapsulated post script (no subtefuge needed
with Open Office it just does it).
