    trying to find roots with Maple

    I'm trying to find the zeros of a function in maple. This is what I do
    Code:
    g(x) := x-> (x-2)(x+2)(-3);
    solve( g(x), x);
    and nothing happens. I can backspace over solve( g(x), x); after I press enter so it's as if the command isn't being executed.

    You're asking it to solve an expression..not an equation, which is why its not working.

    Plus, your function declaration isn't correct. It should be g := x -> (x-2)*(x+2)*(-3);

    If you typed: solve(g(x)=0,x); then you'll get something...

    P.S.: Why use maple when its easier to find the zeros by hand?
