    Maple: 3D graphs

How do you use maple to plot quadric surfaces like ellipsoids?

    The general syntax is:
    Code:
     plot3d(f(x,y), x = -a..a, y = -b..b)
    But what if I wanted to plot something like z = x^2 - y^2 ?

Does Maple only allow you to plot functions in standard or parametric form?

So you cant type in an equation like x^2 + y^2 + z^2 = 1 and plot it in Maple?

I used the plot builder in Maple and graphed x^{2}+y^{2}+z^{2}=1

I went to Tool, Assistants, Plot Builder. You must enter it as x^{2}+y^{2}+z^{2}-1 and x^{2}-y^{2}-z

It gave me this, does that help?.
