Maple: 3D graphs
How do you use maple to plot quadric surfaces like ellipsoids?

The general syntax is:
Code:

` plot3d(f(x,y), x = -a..a, y = -b..b)`
But what if I wanted to plot something like $z = x^2 - y^2$?

Does Maple only allow you to plot functions in standard or parametric form?

So you cant type in an equation like $x^2 + y^2 + z^2 = 1$ and plot it in Maple?

I used the plot builder in Maple and graphed $x^{2}+y^{2}+z^{2}=1$

I went to Tool, Assistants, Plot Builder. You must enter it as $x^{2}+y^{2}+z^{2}-1$ and $x^{2}-y^{2}-z$

It gave me this, does that help?.
