# Math Help - parametric plot in wxMaxima (or Mathematica)

1. ## parametric plot in wxMaxima (or Mathematica)

Is anyone versed in wxMaxima?

I need to do a parametric plot of equations Y(t) and X(t) in wxMaxima.

The help manual says the command for this is:

parametric(X(t),Y(t),t,paramin, paramax)$I do exactly this and nothing happens. Any idea what's goin on? If you're not versed in wxMaxima but know how to do parametric plotting in Mathematica or Maple, then I would appreciate that advice too. Thanks 2. wxplot2d([['parametric, x(t), y(t), [t, -6, 6], [nticks, 300]]], [x,-5,5])\$

(its an option on the 2d plot menu item)

3. I do not see it in the option drop down on the 2D plot menu. But the command you posted seems to work. Thanks.

In the plot2D dialog box click on special (it's next to the expression entry box)
