    Excel - Uniform Distribution

    Hey all,

Dont know whether this should be in this section cause Excel isnt really a mathematical software but i just needs some tips to dow to operate it since im pretty bad with Excel.

Anyways the task is that i need to simulate 100 values from a uniform distribution with the mean of 0 and variance of 1 ie:

    Uniform (0,1)

and make a histogram out of it.

The values are random so i can generate that from Excel itself.

Any tips on how to do this? Thanks!

Is the question more about how to plot a histogram with bins etc?

I have not done anything like that in excel, but I imagine there is some VBA code around that makes use of the bar graph that would probably be of some use?

Hm well as far as I know, it's not that complicated to make a bar plot...
As for the rand(), you just have to copy it to the number of cells you need to have. And they'll be different

A histogram and a bar graph are not necessarily the same thing therefore it isn't as straight forward as you might think. I dont know if excel has this capability built in as standard.
