    typing mathematical text

    is there a substitute to latex for typing standard mathematical text???one that is particularly of less size as i have a slow connection. please help!!!

    There certainly is: EXP: The Scientific Word Processor
    I have used EXP for twenty years.
    Karl Smith has written fifty textbooks using EXP.

    There is also MathType used with WORD.
    But I enjoy the total integrated environment of EXP.

    hey need some more help:how to insert the text and maths into the posts?
    the maths symbols like theta and pi donot get into the posts by normal copy -paste.
