2 miles in 13 minutes

speed = distance / time = 2/13 miles per minute

= 2/(13 x 60 ) miles per hour - Dec 25th 2012, 03:51 AMBeanRe: How many mph to travel 2 miles in 13 minutes?
Use ratios and cross multiply.

$\displaystyle \frac{2}{13} = \frac{x}{60} $

$\displaystyle 13x = 120 $

$\displaystyle x= \frac{120}{13} $ - Dec 28th 2012, 05:29 AMHallsofIvyRe: How many mph to travel 2 miles in 13 minutes?
Or, note that since there are 60 minutes in an hour, 13 minutes is 13/60 of an hour. Going 2 miles in 13/60 hour, you are going 2/(13/60)= 2(60/13)= 120/13 miles per hour.

firstly you will need to find the hours that were used.

using the ratio minutes : hours

60mins = 1hr

13mins = 13/60

= 0.2166666666666667

then you have to find the speed which is the miles per hour

speed = distance/time

= 2/ 0.2166666666666667

= 9.230769230769229miles per hour

you can round it up to 3sf making it;

speed = 9.23mph
