graph to array problem
hi guys i know this is more of a computer math question but i think i need a more specific mind set for this one

a 2d graph is from (top left) -1000,1000 to (bottom right) 1000,1000.

in correspondence to this i have an array with 2 dimensions witch is 10 by 10
[1][1](top right)
[10][10](bottom left)

what is a formula which will take a point in the 2d graph and tell me where it is on the array
all i can help with is the following.

-------------2d GRAPH----------------------------------- 2d ARRAY
a(1000,1000)----- b(1000,-1000) -------------> a[1][1] ----- b[10][1]
----------------------------------------->
------------------------------------------>
------------------------------------------>
---------------c(0,0) -------------------------------------> c[5][5]
------------------------------------------>
------------------------------------------>
------------------------------------------>
------------------------------------------>
d(-1000,1000)----- e(-1000,-1000)------------> d [1][10]----- e[10][10]

sorry the diagram is crude i cant put multiple space bars.
3....2....1...GO!!!!
