Thread: ok i have a problem for you to solve.

three guys go to rent a room. it is 30 dollars. they each pay with ten dollars each. when up in their room, the desk clerk realizes she made a mistake. they have five dollars coming back to them. she hands five dollars to the bell hop, tells him to please give this back to the guests. the bell hop knocks on the door, hands one of them the five dollars and explains what happened. so..... the guys try to divide up the five dollars between the three of them and it doesnt equal out. so....... they decide to give the bell hop a two dollar tip. then they each get back one dollar.

now how much did each guest have invested in the room???

after this add up the two dollars they gave the bell hop and what is the total???

now remember, the room was thirty dollars. what happened to the other dollar????


if anybody has the solution to this problem please explain how you got it?????

they have $27 invested ... $25 for the room charge + $2 tip

sorry i messed it up.

each guest had 9 dollars invested so that adds up to 27 dollars + the two dollar tip. = 29 dollars
their initial investment was 30 dollars. what happened to that extra dollar
