    Milk

you have a jug of milk and you need to mesure out just one cup. how do you do this if you only have a three-cup measuring container as well as a five-cup measuring container?

    Hi autumn,

First, fill up the 3-cup container.

Transfer the milk to the 5-cup container, leaving 2 cups left to fill.

Refill the 3-cup container, and use that to finish filling the remaining 2 cups of the 5-cup container.

The remainder in the 3-cup container is 1 cup.
