Thread: Help with my castle

Hello,

This might sound silly, but I've decided to build my little girls a castle and I need to figure out what angle to cut my 2x4s. I need to make a cross that will be 42" wide and 48" tall. It's been a while since my last trig class and I'm a bit stumped.

Attached is an image showing how far I made it. I circled the main problem (as I see it) in yellow. Can anyone give me a nudge in the right direction?

If you're really intent on solving the above problem and my 2x4 construction problem then don't read this yet.

I finally solved it and it did involve, as I imagined in the previous image attachement, the 3.5 inch width of the 2x4.
