You can use a calculator with the four basic operations of
addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Also,
you can use the square root key. No logarithm or
exponential keys may be used.

The formula for $\displaystyle \ \ log_e(1 + x) \ = \ \dfrac{x^1}{1} \ - \ \dfrac{x^2}{2} \ + \ \dfrac{x^3}{3} \ - \ ... \ \ \$
may be used (for the appropriate x-values).

Exponential and logarithmic rules are available for use.
