1. Binary series prediction

Hello
Please let me know how can i predict binary series ? with hand and if possible with matlab?
and please say how it work?
I do not know where to start

Thanks

What do you mean by a 'binary series'?
Is this a question coming from computer science as in a binary search?

3. Re: Binary series prediction

for example i have many 0 and 1 like below and like numerical series i need predict future of those , let write example :
01010111101010001010101010101010000101110101010101 0101(this is example and maybe i have over 1000 , zero and one) and now i need for example 10 zero and one after these!
i think about chaos theory , fractals , ... but really i don't know where can i start for research about this and of course about time series that now i find some things like neural network in matlab (nnstart) and i try to know that and if i can't i need understand that too !
i think meanings of chaos theory , neural network , fractals , or maybe fuzzy systems and some others near together and when combine can predict every things like financial markets or other like that but really this is unclear for me to start research and unfortunately i don't have any good teacher now because of bad way in my country
excuse me because of my weak language and i hope you can understand what i need
Thank very much for your time

4. Re: Binary series prediction

Without further information about the autocorrelation of the sequence there exists no reliable predictor.

If your data stream is white noise, no reliable predictor exists.

5. Re: Binary series prediction

I remember doing an exercise like this in an introductory programming class many years ago. There is no one correct answer. You basically have to assume there is a pattern in the given data and guess that pattern.

Thanks romsek and thanks HallsofIvy

but how can i guess ? is there any program for test binary series ? or do you know any method for start guess ? i think At least i know how can i guess numerical series even i can't guess ! but in binary series i don't know how can i do this ? i must see 0 and 1 s alone or use for example 4th block or ...?!
