HI everyone

I have Miktex on my computer and I want to get the package Beamer. Do I just start my document like so:

Code:
\documentclass{beamer}
and Miktex will get the package for me? Is that how it works?
I ask because I've been trying to get the package online myself and I'm getting massively confused. No I do not know any gnu experts. I get a .tar file called translator, but then I don't know what to do with it. I can't even open .tar files!

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

My understanding is that if you have a standard installation it will download and install the package itself first time it encounters it, if it is a standard package.

3. Yea thanks. I figured this out when I tried running Miktex and starting like I suggested. Hey presto! Miktex asked me if I would allow it to downloadl the package
Sorry for being silly.
