Why do I keep getting a error for this?

It's [/math], not [\math]

[tex]\frac{2}{a}+\frac{1}{b}[/tex]

wait that was only a mistake on this forum. I corrected it at first...I don't know where it went. I actually put the correct latex thing in the question though.
