    Wrap the letter with \mathbb{}
    Note that this works with capital letters only :
    \mathbb{ABCD}\mathbb{EFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ}

    For the 1, I bet you want to use it for the indicator function... I don't think there is a simple command with it. But use \bold{1} (bolded) and we'll understand you

    http://www.statslab.cam.ac.uk/~elie/ext/tex/ look "Example Code with Overlaps". But I cannot open the file due to problems of mine.

    Code:
    \mathbb R,\ \mathbb C,\ \mathbb{STRING}
    gives

    \mathbb R,\ \mathbb C,\ \mathbb{STRING}

    I am not really sure about the numerals.

    You type in LaTeX code.
    [tex]\mathbb{R}[/tex] gives \mathbb{R}.
    [tex]\mathbb{C}[/tex] gives \mathbb{C}.
    [tex]\mathbb{Q}[/tex] gives \mathbb{Q}.
    [tex]\mathbb{Z}[/tex] gives \mathbb{Z}.
