    Upper and lower integrals

    I have figured out that I can get \int\limits_- by using [tex]\int\limits_-[/tex] and [tex] \int\limits_\text{ }^- by \int\limits_\text{ }^-[/tex]. Is there an easier way to do this that looks nicer? Like the line is closer to the integral. And is it possible to have the integral have limits but still have the over and under bars?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello bro,

    what do you think about

     \overline{\int^b_a} f(x) dx
    and \underline{\int^b_a}?

    Code:
    \overline{\int^b_a} f(x) dx
    \underline{\int^b_a} f(x) dx

    Alternatively
     \overline{\int}^b_a f(x) dx
    ( \overline{\int}^b_a ) in my opinion this is crap.

    regards,

    That is a tricky problem. How about this? \lower3ex\hbox{--}\kern-.5em\int_a^{\,b} \quad  \raise3.2ex\hbox{--}\kern-1.2em\int_a^{\,b}

    [tex]\lower3ex\hbox{--}\kern-.5em\int_a^{\,b} \quad \raise3.2ex\hbox{--}\kern-1.2em\int_a^{\,b}[/tex]

    You may have to adjust the amounts of raising, lowering and kerning to get the best appearance.

    Haha, wow! I have no idea what you just did with that \lower3ex stuff..no matter I will just copy and paste it . Thank you very much Opalg
