The answer strictly depends upon what you are trying to do and upon what programs you are using.
I use Adobe Distiller as a printer driver. So from any program I am using, I can print to a PDF file and it uses whatever fonts I have used in the application from which I am printing.

Please describe what you are doing. Maybe someone here has experience doing something similar.

5. ## putting math

i was just putting some math into tex system and try to make some PDFs.
How can i set my font as Helvetica in tex?

6. ## i m using

7. \sf will change the fornt to the san-serif defined in the default font package.

\usepackage{helvet} will set the san-serif font to helvetica.

The following:

Code:
\documentclass[12pt]{article}
\pagestyle{empty}
\begin{document}
% hier wird der Text eingefügt!
\noindent \sf
The quick brown for jummed over\\ the lazy dog\\ \\
\rm
\noindent some more test
\end{document}
produces the output in the attachment.
