    equation label problem

    Has anybody seen this kind of problem?

    when I refered to the equation that I labeled already, it gave (equation 1.1) not (1.1) which is I want to have.

    it is like, I wrote:
    \begin{equation}
    x=5 (1.1)
    \label{A}
    \end{equation}

    when i refer it,

    (\ref{A}), it gave me (equation 1.1), not (1.1).

    Do you know what is the problem? Thank you!!!!!

    Which documentclass are you using? This problem seems to be deeply embedded in the LaTeX style file.
