    Cancel package

    I'm struggling to install the cancel package in TeXnicCenter . No success at all...

    The cancel package belongs to C:\Program Files\MiKTeX 2.7\tex\latex\ltxmisc

    I certainly see ltxmisc as "installed" in the MikTex package manager.

    I also run the TeXnicCenter "Tools" => "Import Tex Commands" and imported such ltxmisc.

    This action created an ltxmisc.xml file under C:\Program Files\TeXnicCenter\packages

    Still, the TexnicCenter does not recognize at all the command \cancelto

    Any hint??

    Thanks a bunch!

    Go to Start - All programs - MikTeX 2.7 - Settings.

    Observe "Refresh FNDB" and press it. Let's see if that will work.

    But wait, we're omitting something important here:

    I assumed you put \usepackage{cancel} in the preamble, did you do that?

    Did not know about that...

    Thanks!

    But...

    I added \usepackage{cancel} with other commands in the preamble of the
    LaTex document.

    Still not working. I'm enclosing the complains of the tool.

    P.S. I'm doing the same work in parallel with Aurora. No success either.

    Could you post the preamble that you're currently using?

    Here is the preamble...

    \documentclass[letterpaper,10pt]{article}
    \addtolength{\oddsidemargin}{-90pt}
    \usepackage{cancel}

    \begin{document}
    \begin{flushleft}

    That preamble is incomplete, the normal one is

    \documentclass[letterpaper,10pt]{article}
    \addtolength{\oddsidemargin}{-90pt}
    \usepackage{cancel}

    \begin{document}
    \begin{flushleft}
    $\displaystyle\frac{32}{64}=\frac{2\times4\times4} {4\times4\times4}
    =\frac{\cancelto{1}{2}\times\cancel{4}\times\cance l{4}}{\cancelto{2}{4}\times\cancel{4}\times\cancel {4}}
    =\frac12$
    \end{flushleft}
    \end{document}

    I typed that and it worked out.

    How can I thank U?

    Everything works now!

    Even with Aurora!

    Not time now for understanding the preamble. Later.

    For now, Thanks so much!
