What is the new delimiter for toggling text vs. math regions?

With the old system we could do

$\displaystyle here = math$ and here is some text $\frac{more}{math}$

using $ as an inline delimiter between the regions

How do we do this on the new system without (hopefully) having to use \mbox or \text over and over.

Re: What is the new delimiter for toggling text vs. math regions?

That still works: $\displaystyle r = \sqrt {{x^2} + {y^2}} $ and text here $ \frac{1}{2} $.

Oh I misread that -- you want to know how to do it with MathJax. I don't think there's a quick code to do it.
