Math Help - exponents with a decimal pount

    exponents with a decimal pount

    When I try to input something like 32^(1.4) into LaTeX it comes out like 32^1.4 How do I get it to post in the correct format?

    Because 1.4=\frac{7}{5} then 32^{\frac{7}{5}}=\sqrt[5]{32^7}=2^7

    To see the LaTeX click the reply with quote option. When the is more that one character in an exponent use {}.
