Tables
\begin{array}{cc}1&0\\0&1\end{array}

Typed this exactly as it appeared in Latex tutorial and placed it between [-ath] and [/-ath] and got latex error. -=m. If it does work, how do you control column spacing?

Also tried "Table" on icon bar. No luck.

Re: Tables
$\begin{array}{c@{\hspace{3em}}c} 1&0\\ 0&1\end{array}$
 1 0 0 1

The math delimiters are $$...$$ on this forum. Remember to write math formulas in one line and insert spaces (at least every 50 characters). These are again quirks of the forum, not LaTeX in general.

Space between columns can be changed by inserting @{LaTeX code} between column specifications in the table preamble. It supresses the intercolumn space and inserts LaTeX code instead. See Wikibooks for more on LaTeX tables.

The first icon in the last row works for me: it shows a dialog where the number of rows and coluns can be specified. Click "Reply With Quote" to see the code in this post.

Re: Tables
Thanks emakorov,

The code worked perfectly, and I was even able to experiment with spaces. Strange

This is what I get by using the table icon.
