Using LaTeX with MS Word / OneNote

How can I use LaTeX with Microsoft Word or OneNote?

MathType lets you type LaTeX directly into Word, and convert it to a MathType equation with either a click of an icon or a keyboard shortcut. If you want to edit it in LaTeX, convert it back, edit it, then convert it again. More info: http://www.dessci.com/en/support/mathtype.

Microsoft office 2007, has a plugin equation editor which very nice and simple
but the files will be in .docx not .doc like 2003 and previous ones
