    Latex broken?

    Is LaTeX currently not working as it should? I can't even get a simple code as

    <br />
G<br />

    to compile.

    There has been plenty of publicity about this. The required tags now are [tex] and [/tex]

    [tex]G[/tex] gives G.
    You just have to use the correct tags.

    Ah, thanks, I guess I must have just been blind to the publicity. It's strange though, [tex]G[/tex] still works and gives me G.

    Yes, but it is flaky, anything much longer or using something exotic and it is likely to fail, also it is likely to fail with too many single LaTeXed characters.
