I've noticed my textbook seems to more frequently use the latex equivalent of \leqslant and \geqslant, but I wasn't sure if there was a reason for this.
Is there some unspoken math-type formality where the bottom bar should be parallel to the bottom of the less/greater than sign in certain instances, and parallel to the page in others? Or is it just a matter of aesthetic preference?
I know this isn't exactly a Latex question (though it may be a silly question), but I didn't know where else it should go.
