    Preview Document?

Sorry this is a really stupid question, but I've just started trying to learn LaTeX using MiKTeX - I'm looking for a way to get a sample output of what I've written, but I can't seem to find it >.

You have to compile the document to one of: postscript (.ps), dvi (.dvi) of PDF (.pdf) and view the result with the appropriate viewer.

Your LaTeX editor should have buttons to do this somewhere (most of the more common editors do anyway)

Which editor do you use? MiKTeX comes with the TeXworks editor, this one provides a previewer offering also the possibility to jump from a point in the output to the corresponding code line by just a mouse click and also the other way round.
