    Limits of a Function

How do you format limits of functions neatly in Latex?

    Would appreciate help.

    Dear Bernhard,

I shall give you an example. Click on the text below and the Latex code will appear.

    \lim_{x\rightarrow{a}}f(x)=g(x)

    Also please refer to http://www.mathhelpforum.com/math-he...atex-site.html

Hope this will help you to understand.

    "\lim_{x \to X} f(x)" will produce:

    \lim_{x \to X} f(x)

You need to add \displaystyle so that the subscript shows under the lim sign.

    \displaystyle \lim_{n \to \infty} f_n(x)
    \displaystyle \lim_{n \to \infty} f_n(x)

Not with the MHF-LaTeX set up it defaults to displaystyle.
