    right-align equation numbers?

    How can I get latex to do its automatic equation numbering similar to the \begin{equation}, \end{equation} commands, but have the equation numbers right aligned instead of right next to the equation? (Still keeping the equation centered)

    Thanks!

    Normally they are... Guess you're using some asm package or something...

    When setting up the preamble do...

    \documentclass[{other stuff},reqno]{type}

    The {} stuff is the stuff you will need to edit obviously but the reqno command should put all numbers on the right.

    Got it. The problem was that I was using $ tags around the equation as well as the begin/end equation commands, once I took those out it did what I wanted. Thanks for your reply, I'd given up and you prompted me to keep trying
