Thread: New to latex, help

I am new to using latex,
i recently downloaded winedt and miktex and tried to test a few codes n it. None of them seem to wrk, i've tried codes other users have sent me which work for them but i can't get anything
i copy it in then try to compile it and get an errror saying

Error starting Latex...

The system cannot find the file specified.

you might find it easier just to type in the latex
into the forums reply text box, highlight it, and apply the sigma icon to it..

once you use latex, just keep a file of commonly used expressions and cut and paste..

my take anyway
not a latex guru yet
