    The raggedy edge.

    I'm trying to write proofs on LaTex for an essay. However, I can't get them to work.

    After looking on other sites I found I had to write it like this:

    \begin{proof}Text text text \end{proof}

    Unfortunately, this doesn't work when I write it on Kile. I think I need a package called "amstheorem", but I can't find it on synaptic manager!

    Can anyone help?

    (P.S I'm using Ubuntu 9.10)

    The package you need is amsthm, it should work in the normal way (just put \usepackage{amsthm} in the pre-amble).
