Real Life: Need To Find Dead Center On Both Ends Of A Wooden Drum
I have a vintage drum set I am restoring. All the drums have the heads and hardware removed. I need to find dead center on both ends of each drum.
Here is an example. One drum is 14 inches in diameter. I am going to cut out two 16 inch diameter plywood disks that will be temporarily affixed to each end of the drum while I paint the drum. Finding dead center of the plywood disks is no problem. However, how do I line up dead center of the plywood disks with dead center of the open end of each drum?
I have measuring instruments like a ruler, a carpenter's square, as well as other materials commonly found in a shop or home.
Thank you in advance for your replies.
