Thread: Lateral Area and Total Surface Area

Ok, when I'm trying to find these two areas of a prism, I will sometimes get the question wrong. My teacher told us LA= Perimeter times height, and TSA= LA+ 2 times the area of the base or "2B". Sometimes I'll get the question wrong because I don't put 1/2 before the Area. Is there a specific time when you are suppossed to divide by 2, or is it all the time?
