    Distance between points in a square

    Supopse there are (any) 5 points on a unit square(a square with area 1). Show that two of tese points must be within (sqrt(2)/2) of each other.

    Hint: the farthest away the points can be are on opposite vertices. that is, on the ends of a diagonal of the square. what is the length of the diagonal?
