1. ## Find the area of the the BLUE shape. (Pic Included)

Allright so I am doing my math assignment and I don't know if this is right or not.

Area of the big blue square: 98.654 squared - aprox 9763.61
Area of triangle is 1/2bh= 1/2(45.5)(55.5) = 1262.625

I added the area of triangle to area of square = 1262.625+9763.61=11026.325

So the answer i got is 11026.325 ???

This area will be $A_{c} = \frac{1}{2} \pi r^2 = \frac{\pi}{2} \cdot 20.031^2$ Leave it in this form to avoid rounding errors
The area of the small square is $55.5 \times 45.5$ but since half of it is taken by the blue triangle we can do $\frac{55.5 \times 45.5}{2} = 1262.625$
Now we can take the sum of these from the big square which has an area of $98.654^2$
$A_{blue} = 98.654^2 - (1262.625+ \frac{\pi}{2} \cdot 20.031^2) = 7840 \text {in}^2 \text{(3sf)}$
