1. ## Perimeters and Measurements...Urgent assistance!!!

Here are a list of problems in which I seek assistance on...if you could include the calculation (ways/steps of getting the answer, that would be highly appreciated)

1. Estella borrowed $900. Interest on this loan is$108. How much will estella have to repay?

2. You are cooking a 5 1/4 pound roast to serve 14 people. How much meat will each person receive?

3. How many 4' * 8' sheets of drywall do you need for the walls of a 12' * 20' room, 8ft high?

4. If ceramic tiles are 8" * 4", how many tiles would it take to cover an area 4' * 6'?

5. If a customer buys 20 2*4's 8ft long, at $4.75 each, how much would the 2*4's cost? thanks :-) 2. 1. Estella borrowed$900. Interest on this loan is $108. How much will estella have to repay?$900 + $108 =$1008

2. You are cooking a 5 1/4 pound roast to serve 14 people. How much meat will each person receive?

5.25/14 =0.375

3. How many 4' * 8' sheets of drywall do you need for the walls of a 12' * 20' room, 8ft high?

(12*20*8)/(4*8)=60

4. If ceramic tiles are 8" * 4", how many tiles would it take to cover an area 4' * 6'?

4 feet = 48 inches. 6 feet = 72 inches. (48*72)/(8*4)=108

5. If a customer buys 20 2*4's 8ft long, at $4.75 each, how much would the 2*4's cost? I don't really understand this question. What does "20 2*4's 8ft long" mean? 3. for the last question... the person bought 20 2 by 4's like 20 pieces of wood. oh, and for the second question, how did you get 5.25? 4. Did I understand correctly that 5 1/4 meant $5\frac{1}{4}$ as in 5 and a quarter? That's equal to 5.25. Isn't 2 * 4 the measurement of wood, where does 8ft come into it? And lastly, why have you posted this in several places? 5. Originally Posted by Love-Guru 5. If a customer buys 20 2*4's 8ft long, at$4.75 each, how much would the 2*4's cost?
20 pieces of wood at $4.75 each (the dimensions of each piece doesn't matter)$ $4.75 \times 20$
