Our whole course is having a problem with this one , its tricky , for me at least any comment , please share

Write the area of the figure in the attached file in factored form.

Cut off the semi-circular ends and join them along the cut. Now you have a square of side 2r and a circle of radius r.

Hence the area of the firgue is equal to the sum of the areas of a square of side 2r and a circle of radius r. Write this out, take out the common factor and you are done.

3. Hellow, first u huv 2 brin' da area af da square which is
S*S=4r^2 unit^2
plus da area of da identical semi circles
pi*redias^2
=pi*r^2
=3.14r^2
da area of all is: area of square + area of both circles
=3.14r^2+4r^2
=7.14r^2 unit^2
