Aesthetically placed lines using ratios and other things
This is a real life problem I have at the moment, but I've simplified it to just the essentials:

There is a line 1350 long, and there is another line 1000 long. What is the most aesthetically pleasing and mathematically correct way of placing the smaller line inside the larger line?
I am totally competent with algebra, ratios and other things, so if you feel it easier to explain the solution in that way then that will be fine. In fact, I'll make symbols for each thing now:

Length of line 1 (long line):-----------------------A
Length of line 2 (short line):----------------------B
Distance between top of Line 1 and top of Line 2:--C

If you have any questions about this then just post them here.

Thanks(Wink)

I don't know if I just don't understand the question well but wouldn't you just place the shorter line in the middle of the longer one, so have C=175 ?
