    Strange Squaring Directions...

    I'm posting this for a friend. The problem says:

    To square a number ending with 5, multiply 5 less than the number by 5 more than the number, and then add 25. Write an expression or equation for this situation.


    I tried it like 3 times, but if you tested it, it never worked.


    This is probably way easier than I think it is...

    Here are two examples of where it works:

    15*15 = 225
    (15 - 5) * (15 + 5) + 25 = 10 * 20 + 25 = 225

    25*25 = 625
    (25 - 5) * (25 + 5) + 25 = 20 * 30 + 25 = 625
